During the week leading up to NAFF16, Alaskan fiddler, poet and storyteller, Ken Waldman will conduct workshops and community outreach. His visit will culminate in a free public performance, along with Mark Tamsula and Richard Withers, The Early Mays and other friends at the Indiana Theater. Sponsored by the Lively Arts at IUP. “The more you write, the luckier you get,” says Ken. In a addition to being a fiddler with nine CDs to his credit, he is also a former college professor with an MFA in creative writing. His workshop is open to writers of any age, experience, and ability. Ken will help participants start four new pieces and teach strategies for beginning many more.

Ken has published six full-length poetry collections, a memoir and a children’s book. His work has appeared in Poet Lore, Beloit Poetry Journal, Poets & Writers, Quarterly West, and other journals.
